J&K Teacher Recruitment 2026 | AIP Seeks Filling of 18,601 Vacant Posts
The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has called on the Jammu and Kashmir Government to speed up the recruitment process for 18,601 vacant teaching and academic posts.
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said that prolonged vacancies in educational institutions are a serious concern and can affect the quality of education as well as employment opportunities for qualified youth.
18,601 Teaching & Academic Vacancies
According to figures presented by the government before the Legislative Assembly, the vacancies include:
- Teacher: 10,268 posts
- Master: 5,278 posts
- Lecturer: 2,154 posts
- Headmaster: 633 posts
- Principal: 268 posts
The AIP has urged the government to take timely steps to fill these positions, stressing that adequate teaching staff is essential for the effective functioning of schools and colleges across J&K.
