JKSET/LASET 2026: Important Notice for Reserved Category Candidates
Final Opportunity to Submit Valid Category/Reservation Certificate
The JKSET/LASET Agency, University of Kashmir has issued an important circular for candidates who have applied for the JKSET/LASET 2026 Examination under reserved categories.
As per the latest circular, candidates whose category/reservation certificates are invalid, expired, or not in conformity with the applicable Reservation Policy of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh have been advised to take immediate action.
⚠️ Important Deadline
Candidates concerned have been given a final opportunity on or before 11th September 2026 to submit a valid certificate or shift their candidature to the General Category.
📌 What Candidates Need to Do?
Eligible candidates with issues regarding their category/reservation certificate can take either of the following steps:
- Submit a valid and applicable category/reservation certificate; OR
- If otherwise eligible, request shifting of candidature to the General Category through the Query Section available on their Account Dashboard.

📄 Certificate Validity
Candidates are required to ensure that their category/reservation certificates were valid as on 24th July 2026, which was the date of submission of the application form.
The circular clearly states that no category/reservation certificate issued after 4th September 2026 shall be entertained for availing the reserved category benefit.
💰 General Category Option
Candidates opting to shift their candidature to the General Category will be required to deposit the applicable balance/differential examination fee within the prescribed time.
⚠️ Important Warning
Candidates should take this notice seriously. If a candidate with an invalid, expired, or otherwise inadmissible category/reservation certificate qualifies the examination, their candidature/qualification may be cancelled or disqualified if the discrepancy is detected later.
Such cancellation or disqualification may be carried out in accordance with the applicable rules without any further notice.
✅ Advice to Candidates
- Check your category/reservation certificate immediately.
- Ensure that the certificate was valid on 24th July 2026.
- If your certificate is not acceptable, submit a valid applicable certificate if eligible.
- Alternatively, request shifting to the General Category through the Account Dashboard.
- If opting for General Category, pay the applicable differential examination fee within the prescribed time.
- Complete the required action on or before 11th September 2026.
