J&K College Contractual Lecturer Academic Arrangement 2026-27: Selection Criteria & Eligibility

The Higher Education Department, Jammu & Kashmir has notified the Selection Criteria and Eligibility Conditions for engagement of candidates under the Academic Arrangement Scheme 2026-27. Candidates applying for Lecturer, PTI, Librarian and Teaching Assistant posts should carefully check the required qualifications and merit distribution before submitting their online application. 0

Eligibility Criteria

Lecturer / PTI / Librarian

• Master's Degree in the relevant subject.
• Minimum 55% Marks.
• 50% Marks (excluding grace marks) for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates.
• Candidate should possess NET / SET / SLET or Ph.D.

Note: If qualified Ph.D./NET/SET/SLET candidates are not available, Teaching Assistants may be engaged purely on need basis.

Teaching Assistant

• Master's Degree in the relevant subject.
• Minimum 55% Marks.
• 50% Marks (excluding grace marks) for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates.

Teaching / Post Doctoral Experience	2 Marks per Year (Maximum 20 Marks)

Important Notes

• Maximum marks for M.Phil + Ph.D. = 25 Marks.
• Maximum marks for JRF / NET / SET / SLET = 10 Marks.
• Teaching experience less than one year will be awarded on a proportionate basis.
• Selection will be made strictly on merit as per the notified evaluation criteria.

Selection Committee

The selection of candidates will be carried out by the committee constituted by the Higher Education Department, Jammu & Kashmir. Separate committees have been notified for Government Degree Colleges, Cluster Universities, Autonomous Colleges and Government College of Engineering & Technology. 1

Candidates should verify their educational qualifications, NET/SET/SLET/Ph.D. certificates and teaching experience before submitting the application form. The engagement under Academic Arrangement is purely merit-based and temporary for the academic session 2026-27.
