IUST Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026
Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Kashmir has released Detailed Advertisement Notice No. 09 of 2026 dated 29 October 2026, inviting online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of 48 Assistant Professor posts in various Departments, Centres and Disciplines.

Educational Qualification
The essential educational qualifications vary according to the department and discipline. Some of the major requirements mentioned in the notification are:
- English, Urdu, Journalism, Education, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry: Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject.
- Mathematical Sciences: Master's Degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics with at least 55% marks. Certain posts require a Master's Degree in Data Sciences, Actuarial Sciences or Statistics.
- Engineering Departments: Relevant B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. qualifications with First Class or equivalent, as specified in the notification.
- Management Studies: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline and Master's Degree in Business Administration/PGDM/C.A./ICWA/M.Com with First Class or equivalent.
- Computer Science: Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant discipline.
- AYUSH Sciences: MD/MS Degree in the concerned AYUSH system of medicine.
- Planning: Relevant Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Planning or other specified disciplines.
- Geomatics: Master's Degree in Geoinformatics/Geomatics/Remote Sensing/GIS/Geospatial Technology with at least 55% marks.
- Molecular Medicines: Master's Degree in Molecular Medicine, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or other relevant allied subjects with the required marks.
- Skill Development & Training: Ph.D. in the concerned or relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent in preceding degrees, along with a good academic and research record.
NET/SET/SLET Requirement
As per the notification, candidates must have qualified NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or an equivalent accredited test such as SLET/SET conducted by the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
Candidates possessing a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject in compliance with the applicable UGC Regulations may be exempted from the NET/SET/SLET requirement, subject to the conditions mentioned in the advertisement.
