CTET Eligibility 2026 and Validity of Certificate: Application Portal Reopened
CTET September 2026: The application portal for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 has been reopened. Eligible candidates who wish to appear for CTET Paper I or Paper II can submit their applications through the official CTET portal.

CTET Paper I Eligibility – Classes I to V
Candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes I to V may generally qualify through any of the following routes:
- Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed., as per applicable NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
CTET Paper II Eligibility – Classes VI to VIII
Candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes VI to VIII may generally qualify through the following routes:
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and B.Ed., as per applicable NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education).
CTET Certificate Validity – Lifetime
The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can make for acquiring a CTET certificate.
A candidate who has already qualified CTET can also appear for the examination again to improve his/her score.
