JKSET/LASET Result Preparation Procedure

The number of candidates to be qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor shall be equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both papers of JKSET/LASET.
Therefore, simply obtaining 40% or 35% aggregate marks does not automatically guarantee qualification. Final qualification depends upon the available slots and the applicable subject-wise and category-wise cut-off.
Step II: Allocation of Qualifying Slots
The total qualifying slots are allocated among different categories according to the reservation policy applicable to the respective UT of J&K and Ladakh.
This means that qualifying slots are distributed category-wise before the final cut-off and result are prepared.
Step III: Minimum Qualifying Marks
For consideration for Eligibility for Assistant Professor, candidates must have appeared in both Paper I and Paper II and secured the prescribed minimum aggregate marks.

How is JKSET/LASET Cut-Off Calculated?
The number of candidates to be declared qualified in a particular subject and category is determined according to the methodology prescribed by the JKSET/LASET Agency.
The official document gives an example for the English subject under Scheduled Caste (SC) category. The number of candidates to be declared qualified is determined by considering the number of eligible candidates in that subject/category and the total qualifying slots available for that category.
The aggregate percentage corresponding to the number of slots arrived at determines the qualifying cut-off for Eligibility for Assistant Professor for that particular subject and category.
A similar allocation procedure is followed for other subjects and categories.
Candidates should not confuse minimum qualifying marks with the final JKSET/LASET cut-off. Scoring 40% for UR/EWS or 35% for reserved categories only makes a candidate eligible for consideration under the prescribed result methodology. The final cut-off can be higher.
Minimum Marks vs Final Cut-Off
The final JKSET/LASET cut-off depends upon several factors, including the subject, category, performance of candidates and number of qualifying slots.
Therefore, candidates should aim to score considerably higher than the basic qualifying percentage.
UT-Wise, Subject-Wise & Category-Wise Result
After applying the prescribed methodology of slot allocation, the Agency will declare the UT-wise, subject-wise and category-wise cut-off and result.
Candidates who satisfy only the minimum marks requirement should therefore wait for the final cut-off before considering themselves qualified.
No Re-Evaluation or Re-Checking of Result
The official information clearly states that there shall be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the result.
It further states that no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
