SED Seeks Details of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Appointed Since 2003
The School Education Department (SED) Jammu & Kashmir has asked officials to submit complete details of 10+2 contractual lecturers appointed since 2003. The move is linked to the possible regularisation of these lecturers under the Civil Special Provision Act, 2010.
According to official communication, the department has directed all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to collect and submit information about contractual lecturers working in Higher Secondary Schools. The details will be forwarded to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and Jammu division.
The communication specifically asks for information about lecturers appointed under Government Order No. 1301-Edu of 2003 and Order No. 103-Edu of 2003. School principals have also been instructed to provide complete records of such lecturers.
Officials said that CEO offices are currently collecting data from different schools, but many institutions have not yet submitted the required information. The department has asked officers to submit the details urgently within two days so that further action can be taken.
Sources in the department said that the purpose of this exercise is to examine the regularisation of contractual lecturers who have worked for several years without any break. Earlier, these lecturers were engaged against available vacancies and their salaries were paid from the government treasury.
Once the complete data is received, the administrative department will review the matter and take further decisions regarding their service status.
