Directorate of School Education Kashmir Initiates De-Freezing of Vacancies for General Line Teachers

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) initiated the de-freezing of vacancies for the recruitment of General Line Teachers. This step marks a major development toward new teacher recruitments in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Order Which is Viral On Social Media
According to the this order, numbered DSEK/SSA/Tr/ReT/147-56/2025 and dated 11-11-2025, all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) across Kashmir Division have been directed to submit year-wise and post-wise details of vacant positions. These details must include both Teaching and Non-Teaching categories along with their financial implications.
The Directorate has instructed that the information be compiled and forwarded to the Administrative Department within two days.
Purpose of the Order:
This move aims to identify all frozen posts that were earlier utilized during the transition of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers following the implementation of:
- SAC Decision No. 166/22/2018 (dated 07-12-2018)
- SAC Decision No. 174/18/2019 (dated 08-07-2019)
Once the de-freezing process is completed, it is expected to pave the way for fresh recruitment notifications for General Line Teachers in the near future.
