Jkpsc lecturer Exam Selection Procedure for shortlisting

1. Written Examination

  • The written test is objective type (MCQ) with negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The detailed scheme of examination will be given in the official notification.

2. Shortlisting for Interview

  • Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on written exam performance.
  • Ratio of shortlisting: 1:3 (Posts : Candidates).
  • Example: For 10 posts → Top 30 candidates are called for interview.

3. When Candidates ≤ Number of Posts

  • If candidates are equal to or less than available posts, written exam may not be conducted.
  • Suitability will be judged based on academic record and special parameters.

4. Tie & Reserved Category Rules

  • If two or more candidates have marks equal to the last shortlisted candidate, all will be called for interview.
  • Reserved category candidates who score equal or above the open merit cut-off will be called in their respective category.

5. Interview (Viva-Voce)

During the interview, candidates are tested on:

  • Domain knowledge and teaching skills
  • General awareness and current affairs
  • Mental alertness, clear expression, and judgment
  • Leadership, integrity, and overall personality

6. Screening Committee

  • A Screening Committee verifies academic records, research papers, publications, books, and conference participation.
  • The final merit is based on written exam + academic record + interview + special attributes.

7. Final Assessment by Selection Committee

The Selection Committee gives marks on the basis of:

  1. Viva-voce (Interview)
  2. Demonstration / Teaching Skills
  3. Special Attributes (research, publications, etc.)
