JKPSC Lecturer Exam 2025 — Shortlisting Procedure
Source: J&K PSC (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021 (05.04.2021)
1. Written Examination
- The written test is objective type (MCQ) with negative marking for wrong answers.
- The detailed scheme of examination will be given in the official notification.
2. Shortlisting for Interview
- Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on written exam performance.
- Ratio of shortlisting: 1:3 (Posts : Candidates).
- Example: For 10 posts → Top 30 candidates are called for interview.
3. When Candidates ≤ Number of Posts
- If candidates are equal to or less than available posts, written exam may not be conducted.
- Suitability will be judged based on academic record and special parameters.
4. Tie & Reserved Category Rules
- If two or more candidates have marks equal to the last shortlisted candidate, all will be called for interview.
- Reserved category candidates who score equal or above the open merit cut-off will be called in their respective category.
5. Interview (Viva-Voce)
During the interview, candidates are tested on:
- Domain knowledge and teaching skills
- General awareness and current affairs
- Mental alertness, clear expression, and judgment
- Leadership, integrity, and overall personality
6. Screening Committee
- A Screening Committee verifies academic records, research papers, publications, books, and conference participation.
- The final merit is based on written exam + academic record + interview + special attributes.
7. Final Assessment by Selection Committee
The Selection Committee gives marks on the basis of:
- Viva-voce (Interview)
- Demonstration / Teaching Skills
- Special Attributes (research, publications, etc.)
